‘Doberdò‘ is a visual immersion in constant change. The work, shaped through various digital techniques and photographic processing, is inspired by the changing colours of Lake Doberdò (GO), where everything is in perpetual motion. The aerial perspective captured with a drone is mirrored and reflected, offering a dreamy vision. Some of the images from this “bird’s-eye” perspective are interwoven with magic captured through web searches, photographs taken on site and scanned vintage postcards, adding a layer of conceptual complexity to the work.
The assemblage of these different sources creates an intriguing dialogue between real experience and digital imagery, making the lake a place of reflection and metamorphosis.
Part of the ‘RUINS‘ series, the work alludes to the fragility of perception and the mutability of memories. The images, rich in detail and nuance, take the viewer on a sensory journey that crosses the boundary between the tangible and the ephemeral, inviting them to contemplate the beauty inherent in changes and transitions, as if the surface of the lake were telling stories of an ethereal past.
